Assembly Election Results 2023 Live Updates: The counting of votes for the 2023 assembly Elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana will be held today, marking a crucial semi-final before the impending general elections in less than six months.
The Assembly Elections 2023 for all five states - Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Rajasthan, and Telangana - came to an end on November 30.
"In Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, the BJP will come to power with a complete majority. We are waiting for the counting of votes tomorrow. I believe that under the leadership of PM Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP national president JP Nadda, all three states will have a BJP government. In Telangana and Mizoram also, we will perform well," Maurya told ANI.
“We hope that we will come out victorious and we hope that we will get more than 20 seats. Everyone is assuming that there will be a close fight. Multiple exit polls have multiple views. We are still hopeful that we will come out victorious..." said Mizo National Front leader and party candidate of Aizawl North-II, Vanlalsawma.
“Only a few hours are left for the results to be out. We only have to wait a few hours. The results would be out tomorrow in Congress's favour... The people want a change... We are going to form a government of complete majority..." he added.
“The Exit Polls do their survey but the ground reality is that the BJP is going to form the government with a majority. There is going to be a clear mandate. The CM is also going to lose from Patan... The Exit Polls are not always true…" said BJP Candidate Vijay Baghel.
“The counting of votes will take place from 8 am in all 90 assembly constituencies in the state for assembly elections 2023 on Sunday. For counting of votes, 90 returning officers, 416 assistant returning officers, 4596 counting personnel and 1698 micro observers have been appointed," said Chhattisgarh Chief Electoral Officer Reena Baba Saheb Kangale.
"We have full confidence that in tomorrow's counting. BJP will form the govt with a full majority in MP. Let us wait for 24 hours, the results will be in front of us," Scindia said while speaking to reporters in Gwalior on Saturday.
“Exit polls have given a shock to Congress...From the start, we were saying that the BJP is going to form a government in Chhattisgarh...The exit poll has strengthened our claim...Tomorrow there is going to be an end to the misgovernance of Congress in Chhattisgarh," said Chhattisgarh BJP President Arun Sao.
“BJP has contested elections in MP with full strength. From booth level to top leadership, every party worker has played their role and responsibilities...I completely trust what exit polls are depicting, almost similar results will come out and BJP will get successful in making a government of clear majority…" he said.
“People are fed up with this Congress government and want a double-engine govt. There is no undercurrent in Rajasthan...As part of the conspiracy, the Congress government has removed names from the voter list in every constituency. In my constituency too, 18,000 names have been removed and I have complained about it and action will be taken against them," Diya Kumari said.
She predicted that the BJP would form the government with a full majority.
YS Sharmila voiced hope that the Congress would come to power and said that the party had refrained from contesting because it did not want to split the anti-KCR votebank.
“The exit polls should be the exact pulse of the people of Telangana. We are hoping that good days will return to Telangana and crores of people in Telangana are actually happy with the exit polls and pray that it turns into reality. And I am one of them. And that's why we sent a suitcase to KCR asking him to pack up..." she said on Saturday.
“It looks like KCR is trying to buy MLAs and form the government anyway. Well, again, KCR has been proving himself as someone who does backdoor politics. And we demand that KCR restrain from this," she added.
As per the exit polls, the ruling party led by Chief Minister Zoramthanga has an advantage in the northeastern state while there is also a possibility of a hung assembly.
In Chhattisgarh, exit polls gave Congress a clear edge, showing that the ruling party in the state is poised to return to power with the BJP also expected to put up a good contest unlike in the 2018 polls.
While three polls predicted a clear victory of Congress in the state, others said that the party was in the winning range.
According to ABP C-Voter predictions, Congress is poised to win 41-53 seats in the state which has a 90-member assembly. The exit poll said BJP is poised to get 36-48 seats and others 0-4 seats.
Exit polls predicted that Congress is poised to form government in Telangana, defeating KCR's Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) by a huge margin.
In Rajasthan, exit polls have predicted a neck-to-neck battle between the BJP and Congress. However, the majority of the exit polls concluded that the BJP will come into power.
The exit poll predictions showed that "others" including smaller parties and independents could play a crucial role in the formation of the government.
Rajasthan has a nearly three-decade tradition of not repeating an incumbent government. However, the India Today-Axis My India poll has claimed that Congress will buck the trend this time.

A day before the counting of votes for the Telangana Assembly election, the state's Congress President on Saturday rrived at the Election Commission office in Hyderabad.
Former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje on Saturday visited Lord Shri Ganesha at Moti Dungri Temple in Jaipur. The results of the Rajasthan elections will be announced tomorrow, 3 December Sunday. Raje has contested from the Jhalarapatan constituency. In 2018, she defeated Manvendra Singh by 54% votes. Singh has now joined the BJP.

The exit polls might have declared the BJP winner in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly election but the Congress is confident that it will secure a majority in the state. In a video, Congress candidate Sanjay Shukla said, "Congress is coming to power. We won't get less than 140 seats...".
BJP floor leader MLA of Goshamahal Raja Singh said, “No party will have a majority in the 2023 elections in Telangana, whether it's BJP, BRS, or Congress. Speaking specifically about BJP, we can observe an increase in the number of seats for the party, and our survey indicates that we will win up to 14 seats".
ZPM (Zoram People's Movement) candidate Lalnghinglova Hmar has welcomed EC's decision to change counting date from 3rd December to 4th December (Sunday). The ZPM candidate said, "...We all know Mizoram is a Christian state...Counting votes on Sunday will be a big problem...90% of the activities stop on Sunday. So, it is a very welcome decision from the ECI...So, I'm happy because the vote will never change, it is only the day".
Former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath claimed that some exit polls were deliberately created to disappoint Congress workers and put pressure on officers by creating a false atmosphere.

Rajasthan's biggest betting market, Phalodi has heavily betted on the Bharatiya Janata Party's victory in the recently held legislative assembly elections. The betting market has projected over 115 seats for BJP in the state while Congress may settle at 70 seats.
Besides, the bettors have projected victory of all prominent candidates who have contested the elections-- CM Ashok Gehlot, former Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje, and Rajasthan Deputy CM Sachin Pilot.
Rajasthan BJP president CP Joshi said the party will come to power in the state with more than 135 seats.
He said people voted in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and nationalism.
Attacking the Congress party, Joshi said, "The Congress failed to fulfill its promises in the last five years, failed to protect women and corruption flourished, and youths were betrayed by the Congress government. People were upset due to the appeasement policy of the government and the government remained busy in saving the chair".

Congress party national spokesperson Supriya Shrinate is confident that her party will win elections in all five states. In an interview with PTI news agency, Shrinate said, "Congress will form govt in Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh".
Union cabinet minister Anurag Thakur has attacked Congress party ahead of the result days of the legislative elections. Thakur said, “Making fake promises and fake guarantees is an old habit of Congress. For five years, Rahul Gandhi made fake promises (in Rajasthan)," Thakur added, “the BJP will form the government tomorrow as wished by the people".
In preparations for the election result day on December 3 in Rajasthan, State Chief Electoral Officer Praveen Gupta said that counting will begin at 8 am and the postal ballots will be counted first.
Praveen Gupta told ANI, "Preparations have been made at all counting centres in the state. Counting for the 199 Assembly constituencies will begin at 8 am on December 3. After opening the strong room, postal ballots will be counted first; these are around 5 lakh in number. There are 1121 Assistant Returning Officers (ARO) assigned."
Bharatiya Janata Party leader T Raja has said that the Congress and Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), who contested the election together, will form a government in Telangana.
Raja Singh told ANI, "I had said earlier too that nobody will get an absolute majority. It will be a hung assembly this time. So, I think that Congress and BRS--which contested the election together and fielded dummy candidates wherever they had to - will form a government together in Telangana."
He further alleged that several MLAs from BRS are in contact with the BJP and can even join the party".
All-India Congress Committee (AICC) president Mallikarjun Kharge has directed all five incharges and observers of the election states to keep an eye on the counting of votes.

Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala on Friday claimed that his party will win more than 135 out of the 230 assembly seats in Madhya Pradesh.
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party is banking on a survey (exit poll) conducted by a particular agency to claim it is going to win on December 3 when votes will be counted, but this agency itself is now expressing doubts about the accuracy of the findings, he said in a statement here.
Majority of surveys are predicting a landslide victory for the Congress, said Surjewala, the party's general secretary in charge of Madhya Pradesh. “The sun that will rise on December 3 will end the misrule of the BJP that is going on for 18 years and the Congress will win more than 135 seats to fulfill the promises made to the people of the state. This election was between the people and the BJP's scams and failures, and I can say with full confidence that the public will win," he added.
BJP leader T Raja is confident of winning from his Assembly constituency and claims that several BRS MLAs are in contact with the state BJP chief and Bandi Sanjay.
While speaking to news agecny ANI, he said, “I am fully confident. I will win from my Assembly constituency. We are winning at least 25 seats. If we cross 25 seats, there are several BRS MLAs who are in contact with state BJP chief G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay. Several MLAs will come from there (BRS) and join BJP - we can even form the government."
Speaking on Telangana CM KCR calling a state cabinet meeting on December 4, the day after the counting of votes, BJP leader T Raja said that the CM is dreaming that his government is going to come to power.
"Perhaps the Chief Minister is still drowsy. He still thinks that it is his government that is going to come to power and he will have a State cabinet meeting on 4th Dec. He is dreaming. He should wake up from his dreams. He is done, his government is not going to come to power in Telangana. Either the BJP or Congress will come to power," he added.

Election Commission of India revises the date of counting for the General Election to the Legislative Assembly of Mizoram from 3rd December, 2023 (Sunday) to 4th December, 2023 (Monday).
EC says, "The Commission has received several representations from various quarters requesting for change in date of counting from 3rd December, 2023 (Sunday) to some other week day, on the ground that 3rd December, 2023 being Sunday a special significance for the people of Mizoram."
Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Friday stressed that he has never been in the race for the post of Chief Minister, neither in 2013, 2018 and 2023.
The Union Minister also said that the race is for the development and growth of the country.
Polling for the 230-member Madhya Pradesh Assembly took place on 17 November.
The Telangana cabinet meeting is scheduled to be held on December 4, official sources said on Friday. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will chair the meeting at 2 pm, an official release from Rao’s office said without disclosing the agenda.

Former Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kamal Nath on Friday claimed that some exit polls were deliberately created to disappoint Congress workers and put pressure on officers by creating a false atmosphere.
Nath made the remark in a video which he shared on his X handle to motivate his party workers to be alert for the counting of votes which is scheduled to be held on December 3.
The former CM can be heard saying, "All Congress workers should get into the field with full force. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lost the elections. Some exit polls have been deliberately created so that Congress workers get disappointed and to put pressure on the officers by creating a false atmosphere. This conspiracy is not going to succeed."
After the exit-poll predictions for Madhya Pradesh gave a clear edge to the incumbent BJP, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Thursday thanked the women voters of the state, saying "Kaante ki takkar', 'Kaante ki takkar'...'Laadli behna ne saare kaante nikaal diye (What neck-to-neck fight? The daughters and sisters seems to have set us on the road to victory".
Speaking to ANI after the pollsters predicted a comfortable win for the BJP in Madhya Pradesh, the CM said, "Wherever we went, women came out in numbers to extend a hearty welcome and show their support."
He claimed that all other poll players will fall by the wayside as the BJP will return to the hustings with a clear majority.
Members of the Mizoram NGO Coordination Committee (NGOCC) staged protests across the state on Friday seeking a change in the date of counting of votes for the state assembly polls scheduled on December 3.
The demonstrations were held in state capital Aizawl and other district headquarters.
NGOCC is an umbrella body of major civil society organisations and student bodies, including the influential Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) and Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP).
After some exit poll projection showed the Congress leading the race to form the government in Telangana, Telangana Minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao said on Friday that exact polls will "give us good news."

Congress leader Digvijaya Singh, while speaking about Madhya Pradesh exit poll results, said on Thursday that nothing can be said about them as they are very diverse.
"Exit poll results are very diverse. We cannot say anything about it. I can assure you that the Congress will get more than 130 seats and a clear majority in Madhya Pradesh," said Digvijaya Singh.
"People want transformation for which Congress will get votes. It is the people and even the smallest party workers in Congress who have contested the election. People are fed up with Shivraj Singh Chouhan and his fake promises," he added.
Citing the example of false prediction of exit polls in 2018, BRS leader Putta Vishnuvardhan Reddy said declared the recently released exit polls result. He affirmed that BRS will win more than 70 seats and KCR will take oath for the third time.
“The exit polls have gone miserably wrong in 2018. Last time, nearly 80% of all the predictions were wrong. We would like to question the Election Commission of India as to how the exit polls are allowed to be released when the polling is not yet done. Because at 5 pm yesterday, 63% of people cast their vote, and by the end of the day, it had topped 70%. So 7-8% of voters who were queuing up to cast their vote would be indirectly influenced by the exit poll surveys," he told ANI.

"I had said in the beginning that we would win around 150 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has done work where the poor people have benefitted be it Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), Ujjwala Yojana or Ayushman Bharat scheme. Similarly, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, as soon as he came into power, introduced many schemes beneficial to the poor. We are confident that we will win more than 150 seats," the home minister said while speaking to ANI in Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior district on Friday.
