Rahul Gandhi says he 'doesn't get instructions from God', mocks PM Modi: 'His strange Parmatma...'

Rahul Gandhi takes a swipe at PM Modi over the Lok Sabha seat dilemma and questions his decision-making process, which is guided by 'Parmatma' and favours Ambani and Adani.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took a swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday amid buzz over his Lok Sabha seats. He alluded to previous remarks made by the Prime Minister and noted that he — unlike Modi — was not ‘guided by God’. The newly re-elected lawmaker said that he was facing a ‘dilemma’ as he tried to choose between Wayanad and Raebareli.

“You saw how the Prime Minister said ‘400-paar’ which disappeared and then came ‘300-paar’. After that, he said, ‘I am not biological. I do not take any decision. I have been put on this earth by Parmatma and he takes decisions’. His strange ‘Parmatma’ makes him take all the decisions in favour of Ambani and Adani. He tells him to give Bombay airport, Lucknow airport, and power plants to Adani and help him with schemes like Agniveer," Gandhi jibed.

The senior politician said that his God were the poor people of India and, more specifically, the people of Wayanad.

“I go and talk to those people, and my God tells me what to do," he added.

During an interview with News18 earlier in May, Modi had insisted that he had been “sent" by God and given adequate “abilities, inspiration, and good intentions for a purpose".

This energy, he explained, could not be “from my biological body, but was bestowed upon me by God". Modi opined that he was nothing but an ‘instrument’ for God's will.

Pehle jab tak maa zinda thi mujhe lagta tha ki shayad biologically mujhe janam diya gaya hai. Maa ke jaane ke baad in saare anubhavo ko mai jod kar dekhta hoon to mai convince ho chuka hu, galat ho sakta hoon, aalochak, left log toh meri dhajjiya uda denge, mere baal noch lenge…mai convince ho chuka hoon ki parmatma ne mujhe bheja hai," he had told the publication in the run-up to Lok Sabha 2024 elections.
