India vs New Zealand 1st Semi-Final, IND vs NZ: India enter final of World Cup with 70-run win over New Zealand in first semifinal in Mumbai.

The Black Caps were bowled out for 327 in their reply, with pacer Shami (7-57) taking the first four wickets — including two in three deliveries when New Zealand was going well on 220-2. Daryl Mitchell hit 134 off 119 balls.

Shami has three five-wicket hauls in six appearances this World Cup and a record four in total at the tournament.

India finished with a high score against New Zealand in the first World Cup semi-final as Virat Kohli and Shreyas Iyer slammed tons to lead India to 397 runs. The Kiwis need 398 runs to win against India and qualify for the World Cup 2023 semi-finals.

Virat Kohli created history at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai as he surpassed legendary cricket Sachin Tendulkar with 50th ODI century. He also became the second Indian batter to have a World Cup 100 against New Zealand after Sunil Gavaskar.

Virat Kohli slammed his 6th half-century in ICC World Cup 2023 and the Indian star is eyeing to break Sachin Tendulkar's record and become the first batter to hit 50 ODI centuries. Shubman Gill is back to the pavilion after getting retired hurt and Shreyas Iyer is playing his role well.

India's star batter Virat Kohli is on crease as New Zealand pacer Tim Southee dismissed Rohit Sharma. Good start for Team India, but New Zealand has also made some comeback with the wicket of Indian skipper.

Rohit Sharma led India are batting first at the historic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. India and New Zealand are going unchanged in the semi-final clash. Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill began Indian innings on a good note as both batters slammed some boundaries against the lead pacers of the New Zealand.

Rohit's India are the highest-ranked side in the ICC World Cup points table with 9 wins from their 9 matches so far. However, the Indian team management will be cautious as the Men in Blue were also the highest-ranked side in the 2019 tournament when they lost to the Kiwis by 18 runs in the semi-finals.

This Indian side has been the standout team of the tournament and looks balanced in all departments. The Indian pace attack of Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj has been the envy of all teams in the tournament, while the spinners - Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja - have been able to dismantle the opposition in the middle overs with a mix of defensive and attacking bowling.

New Zealand, on the other hand, are not the team to be distracted by the big names in India's playing XI and will look to stick to the style of cricket that has made the Kiwis one of the most successful sides in world cricket in recent times.

The Black Caps will be looking to young cricket prodigy Rachin Ravindra to fire once again against the hosts on Wednesday, while skipper Kane Williamson will continue to shoulder most of the responsibility in the batting line-up.
