Pakistan vs Bangladesh | PAK vs BAN, World Cup 2023 Highlights: Chasing 205 runs, Pakistan defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the match that was  played at Eden Gardens in Kolkata for the ongoing ICC Men's World Cup 2023. 

Pakistan openers gave a superb start, but lost Abdullah Shafique (68), Babar Azam (9) and Fakhar Zaman (81). All the wickets were taken by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who joined the 100-wickets club on Tuesday, along with Pakistan's Shaheen Shah Afridi. 

With this third win in the tournament, Pakistan is at 5th spot with 6 points and has a net runrate of -0.024. While Bangladesh slipped to 9th position, having 2 points and a NRR of -1.446.

Earlier, the express pace battery, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, helped Pakistan bundle out Bangladesh for a below-par 204 in the World Cup match.

Opting to bat, Mahmudullah made a 70-ball 56 but Bangladesh couldn't get any momentum as they lost wickets at regular intervals.

Litton Das (45), Shakib Al Hasan (43) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (25) were the other batters to reach double figures.

For Pakistan, Shaheen Shah Afridi (3/23) and Mohammad Wasim Jr (3/31) were the most successful bowlers with three-wicket hauls, while Haris Rauf (2/36), Iftikhar Ahmed (1/44) and Usama Mir (1/66) also chipped in with wickets.

Pakistan fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi took his 100th wicket in one-day internationals during the World Cup match against Bangladesh in Kolkata.

Bangladesh, who have lost five of their six matches, brought batsman Towhid Hridoy back in for Mahedi Hasan from the side that lost to the Netherlands.

Pakistan have made three changes from the side that lost to South Africa in Chennai by one wicket, recalling fit-again opener Fakhar Zaman as well as Agha Salman and Usama Mir.

Shadab Khan is still recovering from the concussion he suffered during a fall against South Africa while struggling opener Imam-ul-Haq and spinner Mohammad Nawaz were also left out.

Zaman is playing only his second match of the tournament after suffering a knee injury.

With four defeats in six games, Pakistan need to win on Tuesday to keep alive their slim hopes of making the semi-finals.
