TikTok Ban Highlights: TikTok is resuming service in the U.S. after President-elect Donald Trump assured that no penalties would be imposed on service providers offering the app, which had been temporarily unavailable due to a law set to ban it on national security grounds. The law aimed to address concerns about the security of Americans' data under TikTok's Chinese parent company, ByteDance.

The app’s suspension left 170 million U.S. users in limbo, but TikTok confirmed that service was being restored, thanking Trump for providing clarity and ensuring no penalties for service providers.

TikTok has become a major platform for creators, businesses, and influencers in the U.S. Trump suggested extending the deadline for the law’s prohibitions and proposed that the U.S. take a 50% stake in a joint venture with ByteDance as a potential solution to the concerns.
