The Lok Sabha elections are conducted once in 5 years by the Election Commission of India to elect members to the lower house of India’s Parliament. The next Lok Sabha elections will be held in 2024 when the Narendra Modi-led government's term expires. The contest is for 545 seats, out of which a party is needed to win at least 272 seats. Elections are held using a voting system, under which, voters in each constituency cast their vote for the candidate they wish to represent them in the Lok Sabha.
