In 2024, the overall pass percentage of 93.60% was recorded in the CBSE Class 12 result. A total of 22,38,827 students appeared in the Class 12 exam.
Girls achieved a pass percentage of 94.75%, outperforming boys as boys secured 92.71% pass percentage.
More than 41 lakh students appeared for CBSE 10th and 12th board exams this year. Out of these students, 24,11,538 were from Class 10th and 17,87,079 from Class 12th.
The Class 12 board examination was conducted from February 15 to April 4, 2025. Both papers were held in single shifts from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm on all days.
Telangana has outperformed Kerala with a pass percentage of 99.73%. The pass percentage of Kerala stood at 99.32%.

According to the CBSE data, the Prayagraj and Noida divisions in Uttar Pradesh scored the lowest pass percentages among all regions.
The Central Board said that 88.39 percent students passed Class 12 exams, which marks marginal improvement as compared with last year's pass percentage.

The Central Board of Secondary Education in its official notice said, “A candidate after obtaining photocopy of evaluated answer book in the first step can decide whether to opt for Verification of marks which entails posting/totaling of marks or any unevaluated questions or Re-evaluation whereby the candidate requests for re-evaluation of a question or questions thereof. A candidate can apply for either Verification of marks or Re-evaluation or both as per due procedure after obtaining-photocopy of answer book.”
