Addressing reporters, Fadnavis said the results of the Maharashtra assembly polls show that the state supports PM Narendra Modi and also thanked women voters.
"Opposition’s efforts of propagating a fake narrative, and polarisation of voters based on religion foiled by masses," said Fadnavis.
The Deputy CM said he succeeded in breaking the 'chakravyuh' of opposition due to the support of voters, the BJP team and party leaders.
The Maharashtra assembly election, held across 288 seats, featured a fierce contest between the ruling Mahayuti alliance, which includes the BJP, Shiv Sena (Shinde faction), and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), comprising Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (Sharad Pawar faction). Exit polls have forecasted a close race.
The elections were held under high stakes, following significant splits within Shiv Sena and NCP. In the 2019 assembly elections, the BJP won 105 seats, Shiv Sena secured 56, and Congress got 44 seats.

As counting of the votes for assembly polls is underway, BJP leader Shehzad Poonawalla said that the BJP-led NDA alliance will form the government in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.
Speaking to ANI here, Poonawalla said, "In both the places, NDA is going to form its government under the leadership of PM Modi. Exits polls have already come and in a short while, exact polls are also going to come and NDA is going to win. The way questions are being raised on EVM even before the results are announced, it is clear that they (INDIA alliance) have already started worrying about their defeat."
Early trends in Maharashtra's 2024 Assembly Elections show the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance in the lead as of 9:10 AM on Saturday.
As per initial results, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena is leading in nine seats, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) in eight, and the BJP in 10 seats.
Meanwhile, from the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA), the Nationalist Congress Party - Sharadchandra Pawar (NCP-SP) is leading in four seats and Congress in three seats and the UBT Sena in two seats.

Fadnavis has been representing Nagpur South West since 2009, gradually establishing a strong presence in the constituency. In the 2019 assembly elections, he won with a significant margin of over 49,000 votes, further solidifying his influence. Throughout his tenure, his emphasis on infrastructure development and urban welfare initiatives has been a key aspect of his governance.
Fadnavis said the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ‘failed miserably’ to set the counter-narrative to the yatra, which he called a force formed by people having ‘anarchist and ultra-leftist’ mentalities.
“I completely admit that during the Lok Sabha elections, we failed miserably to set a counter-narrative and we have to be blamed for that. At least in Maharashtra, I failed and we were also overconfident," Fadnavis told The Indian Express in an interview.
