Okhla Election Results 2025 Live Updates: According to the Election Commission, Aam Aadmi Party  candidate Amanatullah Khan won in Okhla with a margin of 23,639 votes, while BJP candidate Manish Chaudhary came second with 65,304 votes. Shifa Ur Rehman Khan, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, secured 39,558 votes.

Who will win?

Most exit polls predicted BJP's victory and a setback for AAP.  Today's verdict  will decide the government for the next five years in the national capital. 

For AAP, victory in 2025 Delhi polls would have meant a hattrick for Arvind Kejriwal's ruling party. However, as per latest Election Commission updates, BJP is currently in the lead, and is inching closer for a landslide victory in the capital after 27 years. To form the government in Delhi, a party or an alliance needs to win at least 36 seats in the 70-member house.

Okhla Election Results 2025 Live Updates: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised to return to power in Delhi after about three decades. As the results of the Delhi Assembly Elections came in, the saffron party was ahead in 45 seats, as against the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) 25 seats.

The results clearly indicate that the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP, which has been in power in the national capital for ten years, is facing defeat at the hands of the BJP.

The AAP fought the Assembly Election 2025 with an anti-incumbency of ten years and an aggressive BJP. During the BJP's campaign, Modi coined the term ‘Aap-da’ to target the Delhi ruling party. Aap-da, which translates to ‘destruction’, is the word used to highlight AAP's ‘failure’ to govern Delhi in the last ten years.

Okhla Election Results 2025 Live Updates: AAP MLA and candidate from Okhla Vidhan Sabha, Amanatullah Khan, after casting his vote on Wednesday, has denied any misconduct despite an FIR from Delhi Police alleging late-night campaigning and accused the administration and Election Commission of "conspiring" together by slowing down the voting process.

" I have cast my vote...we are forming the government in Delhi...the voting was carried out very slowly, administration and Election Commission conspired together, first votes were cut...BJP will come second...it is their job to register FIRs and it is my job to face it," said Amanatullah while speaking to ANI. Delhi Police have registered an FIR against Khan for violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Okhla Election Results 2025 Live Updates: As early trends of the counting of votes of the Delhi Assembly elections came in on Saturday, indicating a tight race between the AAP and the BJP, Congress leader Vishesh Tokas enthused confidence in his party's ability to emerge as "king-maker" stating that no government will be formed in Delhi without Congress' support.

Speaking to ANI, Tokas, who had contested the RK Puram constituency, emphasized that Congress would get more seats than expected. "Congress will get more seats than expected, and I assure you that government in Delhi will not be formed without Congress party...Congress will be the king-maker in this election," he said.

AIMIM campaigned for the party in the Muslim-dominated localities of the constituency.

It includes Madanpur Khadar village, Khizrabad village, Jasola village, Aali village, and Taimoor Nagar. As one of Delhi's oldest inhabited regions, Okhla lies along the banks of the Yamuna River. The constituency went to the polls on February 5, 2025, and recorded a voter turnout of 54.96 per cent.

Early trends in the Delhi Assembly elections show that senior AAP leader and sitting MLA Amanatullah Khan is trailing in the Okhla constituency. BJP candidate Manish Chaudhary is currently leading, with a margin of 8,000 votes as of 9:10 am.

In the Okhla constituency, AAP's Amanatullah Khan is leading, with BJP's Manish Chaudhary and Congress's Ariba Khan trailing behind. AIMIM's Shifa Ur Rehman, backed by Asaduddin Owaisi, campaigned in the Muslim-majority areas of the constituency. Prior to polling, Khan, who is aiming for a third term as Okhla MLA, was booked for violating the Model Code of Conduct.

Delhiites on Wednesday exercised their right to vote while expressing concerns about key issues such as civic amenities, employment opportunities, and inflation -- matters which directly impact their daily lives.

Haryana AAP President Sushil Gupta expressed confidence that the AAP will form the government with an absolute majority for the fourth time as the counting of votes takes place on Saturday.

"The public of Delhi trust the work of Arvind Kejriwal, his promises and they love him, " Gupta told ANI on Friday.

Labelling the announcements for financial assistance by political parties as "mere poll promises", a section of women in Delhi said they voted for better education and safety.

A blanket of smoke engulfed Delhi's Okhla landfill site after a fire broke out on Friday.

Following the information, eight fire tenders reached the spot and efforts are underway to douse the fire.
