In the political landscape of Bihar, the 2019 Lok Sabha elections witnessed a resounding victory for the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), clinching an overwhelming 39 out of 40 seats.
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) secured 17 seats, the Janata Dal (United) or JDU claimed 16, while the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) garnered 6 seats. Conversely, the Indian National Congress secured just one seat, while the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), spearheaded by Tejashwi Yadav, failed to secure any.
Contrastingly, the 2014 general elections portrayed a distinct narrative in Bihar's political saga. During this period, the BJP, unallied with the JDU, emerged as the dominant force, clinching 23 seats. Accompanying them, the LJP secured 6 seats. The JDU, contesting independently, managed to secure only 2 seats.
Meanwhile, the Congress, part of the Mahagathbandhan coalition, also secured 2 seats. This stark disparity between the two electoral outcomes underscores the significant shifts and strategic alliances that characterized Bihar's political landscape during these election cycles.
