The voter-turnout at 5 pm was recorded at 61%. According to the Election Commission of India, Mewat topped the turnout charts with 68.28 percent, while Gurugram had the lowest turnout at 49.97 percent. Voting in 90 assembly seats in Haryana began at 7 am on October 5, Saturday. The counting of votes will take place on October 8.
Former Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Olympian Manu Bhaker were among early voters. Khattar said he is confident that the BJP will win 50 of the 90 assembly seats in the state. Congress leader Deepender Hooda took a dig saying that last time, the BJP said it would cross 75 seats, but stopped at 40 seats. “Today, they were saying they will get over 50 seats, so you can imagine the number of seats they will get," he added.
The key contesting parties in Haryana include BJP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), as well as the pre-poll alliance between Indian National Lok Dal-Bahujan Samaj Party (INLD-BSP) and Jannayak Janta Party (JJP)-Azad Samaj Party (ASP).
A total of 1,031 candidates are contesting in all 90 assembly constituencies, and 20,632 polling booths have been set up for voting. A total of 2,03,54,350 voters in the state will be able to exercise their rights in the 15th Haryana Legislative Assembly Elections. Meanwhile, the security has been tightened ahead of the assembly election.
The last Assembly elections took place in October 2019. Following the election, the Bharatiya Janata Party joined forces with the Jannayak Janta Party to form the state government, with Manohar Lal Khattar assuming the role of Chief Minister.

Exit polls showed that the BJP could secure between 51 to 78 seats in the state, surpassing the majority mark of 46 seats. The party formed a government by allying with the Jannayak Janta Party and seven independent MLAs.

In Nuh district, there was a clash among supporters of the Congress' sitting MLA from Punhana and Independent candidate Rahish Khan in a village in the constituency which left three injured.
Sunil Kumar became the centre of attraction at a polling booth in Kurukshetra on Saturday as he reached there to cast his vote in his wedding attire.
The groom from Kurukshetra district in Haryana exercised his franchise before tying the knot.
"I want to give a message to all that casting votes is very important. Nobody should waste a vote," Kumar said after voting at the polling booth in the Ladwa assembly seat.
"I am going to get married after casting my vote," Kumar told PTI Videos.
He said though he got late for the wedding, voting was more important.
Kumar's mother appealed to the people of Haryana to come out of their houses and vote in large numbers.

According to the ECI, among all districts, Yamunanagar is leading with the highest voting percentage of 56.79 percent followed by Mewat with 56.59 percent, Palwal with 56.02 percent and Jind with 53.94 percent while the lowest voter turnout is recorded in Gurugram with 38.61 percent.
The voter turnout for Mahendragrah is 52.67 percent, Fatehabad is 52.46 percent, Kurukshetra is 52.13 percent, Hisar is 51.25 percent, Rohtak is 50.62 percent, Bhiwani is 50.31 percent, Rewari is 50.22 percent and Kaithal is 50.58 percent.
As per the data, the number for Ambala is 49.39 percent, Jhajjar is 49.68 percent, Panipat is 49.40 percent, Karnal is 49.17 percent, Sirsa is 48.78 percent, Charkhi Dadri is 47.08 percent, Sonipat is 45.86 percent, Panchkula is 42.60 percent and Faridabad is 41.74 percent.

Meanwhile, wrestler and Congress leader Bajrang Punia claimed that there is a Congress wave across Haryana. He said the party will win between 60 and 70 seats.
Speaking to reporters in Jhajjar, Punia alleged that the people of Haryana have understood that the BJP only played politics of casteism and hatred.
He also claimed that Phogat would win from Julana with a big margin.
Punia's wife Sangeeta Phogat said she voted for the first time on Saturday, exuding confidence that the Congress will form the government in Haryana.
"Everybody in the state wants a change," she added.
Haryana Election Voting 2024 Live Updates: A voter turnout of 36.69% was recorded till 1 pm across 90 assembly seats in Haryana. Gurgaon was among the districts with lowest tally. It recorded around 27 percent turnout till 1 pm. The lowest was in Panchuka where voter turnout was at 25%. The highest turnout was recorded in Mewat at 42.64%.
