Milkipur by-elections in Ayodhya

Voting for the Milkipur by-election in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya began on Wednesday. After facing a crushing defeat in Faizabad Lok Sabha seat during Lok Sabha polls 2024, the BJP is aiming to win Milkipur. It is a crucial Assembly segment of Faizabad.

This by-election has become a high-stakes prestige battle for the BJP, with the party urging voters to "avenge the defeat." The by-polls are being held after Samajwadi Party MP Awadhesh Prasad vacated the seat after winning the Lok Sabha election from Faizabad (Ayodhya) held last year.
