Aishwarya Rai brings back saree at Cannes, silences never ending divorce rumours with regal sindoor look

Bollywood actor Aishwarya Rai made a stunning appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. She made a splash, wrapped in six yards of grace in a regal sindoor look. Several photos of Aishwarya from the red carpet have surfaced online.

Aishwarya Rai made a stunning appearance in a white saree from Manish Malhotra with golden embellishments and a border. She accessorised her saree with a long pallu on her left with a flowy train on her right. She finished off her look with traditional Indian jewellery.

She attended the premiere of The History of Sound. 

In videos from the red carpet, Aishwarya is seen greeting the media with her signature namaste pose and a warm smile. She also waved at fans. The actress also spotted blowing kisses at the cameras and crowds as she entered the Grand Palais.

The actor is attending the film festival as the global ambassador for L'Oréal Paris. She will be walking the red carpet on Wednesday and Thursday.

Decoding Aishwarya's Cannes look

Sharing details of Aishwarya's look from day 1 at Cannes, designer Manish Malhotra posted pictures on Instagram.

He tagged Aishwarya and called her the ‘OG queen of Cannes’. Aishwarya and Aaradhya at Cannes

Aishwarya is a Cannes regular and as usual, she is attending the festival with her daughter Aaradhya Bachchan.

On Tuesday, Aishwarya and Aaradhya were seen reaching France ahead of the actress' appearance. They landed at Nice airport. Several videos from the airport confirmed Aishwarya's arrival at the festival.

This marks Aishwarya's 22nd red carpet walk in her career so far. She made her debut on the Cannes red carpet in 2002. She had attended the premiere for the first time, promoting her film Devdas, alongside co-star Shah Rukh Khan.

Bollywood at Cannes

Besides Aishwarya, several other Bollywood celebrities, including Janhvi Kapoor, Ishaan Khatter, Aditi Rao Hydari, Karan Johar, Urvashi Rautela and Neeraj Ghaywan. Kiara Advani also made her debut at Cannes this year.

Alia Bhatt is also set to make her Cannes debut this year.

At Satyajit Ray's Aranyer Din Ratri screening, Sharmila Tagore and Simi Garewal made an appearance. 

Meanwhile, Aishwarya was last seen in Mani Ratnam's Ponniyin Selvan: II. She is yet to announce her next project.
