Amitabh Bachchan names Abhishek ‘true inheritor,’ praises son's hard work and ‘brave choices’ in a heartfelt post

Bollywood's legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan wrote an emotional blog post dedicated to his son, Abhishek Bachchan.

Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan shared a heartfelt post for his son, Abhishek Bachchan, praising his work and brave choices.

In a post shared on the social media platform X on Saturday, the actor wrote, “my prayers Abhishek .. your ability to choose different roles and films and to immerse yourself in them .. and succeed .. a very rare quality ..love and blessings.”

In a separate post, the Sholay actor shared a quote from his father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan: "My sons, just because you are my sons, shall not be my inheritors; they who shall be my inheritors, shall be my sons."

The Bollywood superstar also stated that Abhishek has portrayed his worth and earned the right to be called his true inheritor, not by birth, but by merit.

"He has dared to take on films and characters that challenged him, and he 'acted'," Amitabh wrote. "He dared to act and be recognised," he added.

Abhishek's new film — Kaalidhar Laapata

Amitabh's appreciation for his son comes as he shares the trailer of Abhishek's upcoming film, Kaalidhar Laapata, which was released on June 21.

The film has been directed by Madhumita and produced by Zee Studios. The film stars Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role, along with Divya Bharti and Zeeshan Ayyub.

The story of Kaalidhar Laapata revolves around the life of a middle-aged man struggling with memory issues, feelings of abandonment, and years of subtle betrayals.

After overhearing his siblings' harsh plan to leave him behind at the bustling Maha Kumbh Mela, Kaalidhar resolves to disappear on his own terms. His fate introduces him to Ballu, a cheeky, resourceful 8-year-old who has been navigating the unpredictable streets of India alone. The plot further deals with their encounters and evolves into a significantly deeper bond. The film will screen on ZEE5 from July 4 onwards.
