Jana Small Finance Bank Q4 results: Net profit down 62% YoY to ₹123 crore, interest income rises 8%

Jana Small Finance Bank announced a 62% fall in net profit for the Jan-Mar quarter of the financial year 2024-25. Shares of the institutional lender closed higher ahead of the earnings announcement.

Jana Small Finance Bank Q4 results: Small finance lender, Jana Small Finance Bank, announced its January to March quarter results on Tuesday, April 29. The company announced a 62 per cent fall in the net profits to 123.47 crore for the fourth quarter of the financial year ended 2024-25, compared to 321.67 crore in the same period a year ago.  Jana's profits are down due to deferred tax assets and higher operating expenses.

The interest income for the bank witnessed a nearly 8 per cent rise to 1,999.27 crore in the January to March quarter of the 2024-25 fiscal, compared with 1,111.84 crore in the same period a year ago. DTA was 28 cr at the end of March 2025 as against 158 cr during the same period last year.

Financials

Jana Small Finance Bank's provisions for the fourth quarter witnessed a 1.38 per cent decline to 173 crore in the 2024-25 fiscal, compared with 175.44 crore in the same period a year ago, according to the financial statements.

Provisions for bad loans are reserves that any bank maintains to cater for the increasing non-performing assets (NPAs) from its lending operations. Banks usually reduce their provisions if they expect a reduction in bad loans for the upcoming quarter.

On the NPA-end, the small finance bank's gross NPA witnessed a 60 basis point hike at 2.71 per cent for the fourth quarter of the financial year ended 2024-25, compared to its previous level of 2.11 per cent in the same period a year ago.

The Net NPA's witnessed a 38 basis point hike, at 0.94 per cent for the final quarter of FY2025, compared to 0.56 per cent in the same period a year ago.

Jana Small Finance Bank Share Price

Jana Small Finance Bank shares closed 1.47 per cent higher at 523.75 after Tuesday's stock market session, compared to 516.15 in the previous stock market close. The company announced the fourth quarter results after the market operating hours on April 29.

The institutional lender's shares have given stock market investors more than 24 per cent returns on investment since its listing in February 2024. The stock has gained 4.34 per cent in the last one-year period.

On a year-to-date (YTD) basis, Jana Small Finance Bank shares have gained 29.27 per cent in 2025. The stock is up 26.01 per cent in the last one-month period.

The shares hit their 52-week high levels at 760.85 on June 19, 2024, while the 52-week low level was at 364 on January 21, 2025, according to the data collected from the BSE website.

The lender's market capitalisation (M-Cap) was at 5,502.34 crore as of the stock market close on Tuesday, April 29.
