Kotak Mahindra Bank Q4 Results: Net profit falls 14% to ₹3,552 crore over high provisions, dividend declared

Kotak Mahindra Bank recorded a 14% fall in net profit to 3,552 crore in its Jan to Mar quarter results. The board of directors also announced a 2.5 dividend issue for all eligible shareholders.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Q4 Results: Kotak Mahindra Bank announced its January to March quarter results on Saturday, May 3. The institutional lender recorded a 14 per cent fall in its net profits to 3,552 crore due to the increase in provision for bad loans in the quarter ended March 31, 2025, compared to 4,133 crore in the same period a year ago.

Kotak's interest income for the January to March quarter rose 10 per cent to 13,529.77 crore, compared year-on-year (YoY) with 12,307.06 crore in the same period a year ago.

Provisions and NPAs

The private bank's provision for bad loans witnessed a 245 per cent increase to 909 crore in the fourth quarter, compared to 264 crore in the same period a year ago.

Kotak Mahindra Bank's gross non-performing assets (NPAs) increased 3 basis points to 1.42 per cent, compared to 1.39 per cent in the same period a year ago.

However, the net NPAs for the fourth quarter dropped to 0.31 per cent, compared to its previous level of 0.34 per cent in the same period a year ago, marking a 3 basis point decline.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Dividend

Kotak Mahindra Bank's board of directors also announced a dividend issue along with its fourth quarter results. As per the filing data, the institutional lender will issue a dividend of 2.5 apiece to the eligible shareholders.

“The Board of Directors of the Bank have proposed a dividend of 2.50 per share having a face value 5.00 for the year ended 31 st March, 2025 {Previous Year 2.00 per share),” said the bank in the official filing.

However, the company did not disclose the record date of the issue, but assured investors that the dividend will be paid after the approval from the shareholders at the upcoming annual general meeting.

Kotak Mahindra Bank Share Price

Kotak Mahindra Bank shares closed 0.94 per cent lower at 2,185 after Friday's stock market session, compared to 2,205.80 at the previous market close. The institutional lender announced its fourth quarter results on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Kotak shares have given stock market investors more than 60 per cent returns on their investments in the last five years and more than 40 per cent returns in the last one-year period. The stock has gained 21.90 per cent on a year-to-date (YTD) basis in 2025.

The shares hit their 52-week high level at 2,301.55 on April 22, 2025, while the 52-week low level was at 1,544.15 on May 3, 2024, according to the data collected from the BSE website. The private bank's market capitalisation (M-Cap) was above 4.34 lakh crore as of the stock market close on Friday, May 2, 2025.
