SBI Q4 results 2025 Highlights: State Bank of India (SBI), the largest state-run lender in the country, declared its January to March quarter results on Saturday, 3 May 2025. The board of directors of SBI also announced a dividend of ₹15.90 per equity share for all the eligible shareholders.
“The record date for determining the eligibility of members entitled to receive dividend on equity shares is Friday, 16.05.2025 and dividend payment date is fixed as 30.05.2025,” said SBI in its exchange filing on Saturday.
The State Bank of India board also announced that they have approved a fundraising opportunity of up to ₹25,000 crores, in one or more tranches in the financial year 2025-26 through a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP)/ Followon Public Offer (FPO) or any other permitted mode or a combination, as per the BSE filing.
SBI is expected to report a 12.5% year-on-year (YoY) fall in its net profit for the quarter ended March 2025 to ₹18,106 crore. The bank’s net interest income (NII) in Q4FY25 is likely to increase 2.5% YoY to ₹42,696, while net interest margin (NIM) is estimated to decline marginally on a sequential basis, according to Axis Securities.
Analysts expect SBI’s credit costs to normalise during the quarter, while asset quality to improve marginally. SBI’s advances and deposits growth are expected to remain healthy, ahead of systemic growth.

The firm also fixed the record date of the dividend on Friday, May 16, 2025, and the dividend is set to be paid by May 30, 2025.

SBI’s advances and deposits growth are likely to remain healthy, ahead of systemic growth. NII growth is seen at ~3% QoQ, NIMs are likely to decline marginally QoQ. PPOP growth to remain healthy sequentially on the back of improved Opex ratios and better non-interest income. Credit costs are expected to normalise, and asset quality to improve marginally, said Axis Securities. Key monitorables in SBI Q4 results today would be comments on capital adequacy and outlook on loan book growth and return ratios.
SBI remains well-positioned for sustainable growth, underpinned by strong credit expansion, controlled asset quality risks, and accelerating digital transformation. We project a 9% earnings CAGR over FY25-27E, with RoA and RoE expected at 1.06% and 16.8% by FY27E. The standalone bank currently trades at 1.0x FY26E ABV, MOFSL said. The brokerage firm has a ‘Buy’ rating on SBI shares with a target price of ₹925 apiece.
SBI share price has risen 3% over the past month but has remained largely flat on a year-to-date (YTD) basis. In the past one year, the PSU banking stock has declined by more than 3%. However, over a two-year period, SBI share price has delivered a robust return of 40%, and over the past five years, it has generated multibagger returns of 320%.
SBI’s advances and deposits growth are expected to remain healthy, ahead of systemic growth. MOFSL expects SBI’s deposit growth in Q4FY25 to be at 9.2%, while loan growth is pegged at 13.1%. SBI’s deposits in the quarter ended 31 March 2025 is estimated to be at ₹53.7 lakh crore, while loans are expected to be at ₹41.9 lakh crore.
SBI’s asset quality in the January-March 2025 quarter is estimated to improve modestly on a sequential basis. SBI gross non-performing assets (GNPA) as a percentage of gross advance, is likely to fall to 1.96% in Q4FY25 from 2.07% in Q3FY25. Net NPA ratio is also likely to drop to 0.50% in the March 2025 quarter from 0.53% from December 2024 quarter.
Pre-Provisioning Operating Profit (PPOP) in the quarter ended March 2025 is estimated to fall 6.5% to ₹26,886 crore from ₹28,748 crore, YoY. However, PPOP is expected to grow on a quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) basis by 14.2% on the back of improved Opex ratios and better non-interest income, analysts said.
Net interest margin (NIM) of SBI in Q4FY25 is estimated to fall marginally on a sequential basis. NIMs were steady at 3.01% in 3QFY25, supported by a high proportion (~40%) of the loan book linked to MCLR, shielding SBI from rate cuts.
SBI’s net interest income (NII) in Q4FY25 is estimated to rise 2.5% to ₹42,696 crore from ₹41,655 crore, year-on-year (YoY). On a sequential basis, NII during the March 2025 quarter is expected to rise 3% from ₹41,446 crore in the December 2024 quarter.
Analysts expect SBI to report a fall in its net profit in the range of 10%-15% for the quarter ended March 2025. According to estimates by Axis Securities, SBI may post a net profit of ₹18,106 crore in Q4FY25, recording a drop of 12.5% from ₹20,698 crore in the year-ago quarter.
SBI share price has been trading within a narrow range over the past few weeks, with two consecutive Doji patterns on the weekly chart reflecting market indecision, said Rajesh Bhosale, Equity Technical and Derivative Analyst at Angel One. According to him, a clear directional move in SBI shares is likely to follow a breakout from this range — a break above ₹820 could trigger a bullish continuation towards the ₹900 level in the near term, while a drop below ₹770 may lead to further downside towards ₹730.
