According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), earthquake of 4.2 magnitude jolted Tibet on Friday. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage. It occurred at a depth of 20 kilometres.
The earthquake in Tibet took place at IST 9:27 am today. The NCS said, “EQ of M: 4.2, On: 23/05/2025 09:27:27 IST, Lat: 29.19 N, Long: 87.06 E, Depth: 20 Km, Location: Tibet.”
An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter Scale hit Tibet at 02.41 am (IST) on May 12 as well. It took place at a shallow depth of 10km. “EQ of M: 3.7, On: 08/05/2025 20:18:41 IST, Lat: 29.20 N, Long: 87.02 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Tibet,” the NCS had said.
On April 23, an earthquake of magnitude 3.9 struck the region. In a post on X, the NCS had stated, "EQ of M: 3.9, On: 23/04/2025 18:24:28 IST, Lat: 28.96 N, Long: 87.23 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Tibet."
Another earthquake shook Tibet on the same day. “EQ of M: 3.6, On: 23/04/2025 17:25:14 IST, Lat: 29.30 N, Long: 87.06 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Tibet,” the NCS had mentioned.
An earthquake of magnitude 3.5 on the Richter scale hit Ladakh's Leh on Wednesday. There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage at this time. The tremors were recorded at 11:46 PM, taking place at a depth of 10 kilometers.
In a post on X, it stated, “EQ of M: 3.5, On: 21/05/2025 23:46:59 IST, Lat: 34.54 N, Long: 78.38 E, Depth: 10 Km, Location: Leh, Ladakh.”
An earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale struck Betul in Madhya Pradesh during the early hours of Wednesday, according to the NCS.
The NCS said that the tremor took place at 2:59 AM at a depth of five kilometers. "EQ of M: 2.8, On: 21/05/2025 02:59:44 IST, Lat: 21.73 N, Long: 78.35 E, Depth: 5 Km, Location: Betul, Madhya Pradesh," it stated on X.
