Chhattisgarh: Encounter underway between security forces and naxals in Sukma’s Karkanguda

An encounter is currently ongoing between security forces and Naxal cadres in the jungles of Karkanguda, located within the Chintalnar police station area of Sukma district, as reported by news agency ANI. 

Earlier on September 23, three Naxalites, including a woman, were killed in an encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, a senior police official told PTI. As per the senior police, the gunfight broke out at around 4 pm in the forest of Abhujmaad on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra inter-border when a joint team of security personnel was out on an anti-naxal operation. Security personnel recovered the bodies of three Naxalites, including a woman, with a cache of weapons including an AK-47 rifle, from the spot, he said.
