DA Hike: Yogi Adityanath-led UP govt announces 2% hike in dearness allowance for state employees

CM Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Government increases Dearness Allowance (DA) for State Government employees by 2% with effect from  January 2025. With this hike, the DA for UP state employees has been raised from 53 to 55 percent, reported ANI.

According to the details, it will be implemented with the salary of April which the employees will receive in May.

The latest move of the Uttar Pradesh government will benefit about 16 lakh government employees. Around 2 lakh pensioners will also be given the benefit of 2 percent increase in Dearness Relief (DR) and will benefit about 16 lakh government employees. Also, 12 lakh pensioners will also be given the benefit of 2 percent increase in DR.

Assam govt hikes DA:

On Friday, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the state government will grant an additional 2 per cent Dearness Allowance (DA) to its employees and pensioners.

"The Assam Cabinet has announced 2 per cent more dearness allowance for the state government employees and pensioners. This will come into effect from January 1, 2025. We will add the 2 per cent more DA along with the salary before the Bihu and arrears will be given in April and May," Sarma said.

Maharashtra govt raises DA by 12%:

Earlier in March, the Maharashtra government had issued an order increasing the dearness allowance (DA) of its employees by 12 per cent under the unrevised pay scale of the 5th Pay Commission, effective from 1 July 2024.

The DA revised from 443 per cent to 455 per cent will be paid in cash, along with the salary for February 2025, including arrears for 1 July 2024 to 31 January 2025, as per a Government Resolution (GR).

The DA hike is expected to benefit approximately 17 lakh employees, said an official from the state finance department. The existing procedures and provisions regarding DA disbursement will continue to apply in the future, the GR stated.
