The Border Security Force (BSF) on Friday said it has killed seven terrorists who were trying to infiltrate from across the India-Pakistan International Border in Jammu's Samba sector.

The security force also said it destroyed a Rangers post across the border in Samba.

The incident took place in the Samba sector on the intervening night of May 8-9 after a "big group" of terrorists was detected by the surveillance grid.

Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh informed about the incident through an X post and said, “Major infiltration bid foiled by BSF on 8-9 May 2025, at the International Border (IB) in Samba district, Jammu and Kashmir.”

“At least seven terrorists killed and extensive damage caused to the Pakistan Post Dhandhar, says BSF,” he added.

This infiltration bid was supported by fire from Pakistan Rangers post Dhandhar, a BSF spokesperson said.

He said the troops neutralised the infiltration bid, killing at least seven terrorists and caused extensive damage to the Dhandhar post.

It also shared a thermal imager clip of the destruction of the said post.

The force is on high alert in the wake of the current hostilities between the two countries following the Pahalgam terrorist attack of April 22 and India's strike on terror targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in retaliation.

Amit Shah reviews situation

Hours after the BSF said it had killed 7 Pakistani terrorists, Home Minister Amit Shah reviewed the prevailing situation along India's border with Pakistan and airports in the country.

According to a PTI report citing sources, apart from reviewing the security situation along the India-Pakistan border, Shah also took stock of the steps taken to beef up security at airports across the country.

There has been heightened tension between India and Pakistan following India's strike on multiple locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on Wednesday and Pakistan's attempts to hit Indian military sites on Thursday, which were thwarted by the Indian armed forces.
