Former DOGE head Elon Musk has responded to American fund manager Bill Ackman's request to reconcile with US President Donald Trump following their public spat over the ‘big beautiful bill.’

In a post on the social media platform X, Ackman urged Musk and Trump to reconcile for the benefit of the United States.

“I support @realDonaldTrump and @elonmusk and they should make peace for the benefit of our great country. We are much stronger together than apart,” Ackman wrote.

Replying to Ackman, Musk wrote, “You’re not wrong.”

Signals of a possible truce

White House aides have convinced Trump to soften his public criticism of Musk to prevent escalation and arranged a call on Friday with the Tesla CEO to discuss a resolution, according to a report by POLITICO.

Speaking on the public spat with Musk, Trump told POLITICO, “Oh it’s okay." He further added, “It’s going very well, never done better.”

He added, “Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out,” fueling speculation and intensifying tensions between the two.
