US President Joe Biden mistakenly confused his vice president, Kamala Harris, for his rival Donald Trump while answering his first question at a press conference on Thursday. The US President's confusing statement at the NATO press conference has renewed concerns about his age and acuity.

As the series of high-profile gaffes made by Biden during the NATO summit revived concerns about his age, Republican party's candidate Donald Trump targeted the US President with “Big Boy” jibe.

"Crooked Joe begins his “Big Boy” Press Conference with, "I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president, though I think she was not qualified to be president." Great job, Joe." wrote Donald Trump on social media website Truth Social.

Joe Biden chose a small yet effective reply to Donald Trump's mockery. “By the way: Yes, I know the difference. One’s a prosecutor, and the other’s a felon," wrote Joe Biden on X, in a reference to Donald Trump's conviction in the hush money trial case.

Apart from mistakenly calling Kamala Harris as ‘Trump’, Joe Biden also mistakenly called Vladimir Putin as the Russian president.

“Look, I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump to be vice president — did I think she’s not qualified to be president?” Biden said. “So let’s start there. Number one, the fact is that the consideration is that I think I’m the most qualified person to run for president.”

Several Democrats leaders have urged Joe Biden to step down and give opportunity to younger candidates, however, Joe Biden has maintained that he is not going to “bow down” from his re-election bid.

While arguing his capability to lead the nation as President in another term, Joe Biden touted his decades of experience on the world stage which makes him uniquely qualified to defeat former President Donald Trump.

"The only thing age does is creates a little bit of wisdom if you pay attention," said Biden, who is already the oldest person to ever serve as president.

Joe Biden's US Presidential Election bid has become a major concern for his party members as his poor performance against Donald Trump in presidential debate two weeks ago raised questions about his ability to win the election. Biden's recent mix up of words at the press conference is likely to raise doubts from donors, supporters and fellow Democrats about his ability to win the Nov. 5 election and keep up with the demands of the job.
