Australia vs Pakistan 1st T20I highlights: Aussies beat Men in Green by 29 runs in rain-curtained match in Brisbane

Two wickets in the final over and a six completes the game as Australia win by 29 runs in the 1st T20I in Brisbane. 

Another Pakistan batter bites the dust as Nathan Ellis dismisses Haseebullah Khan. Shaheen Shah Afridi comes out to bat. Fifty comes up for Pakistan with a four off Abbas Afridi. PAK 53/7 (6)  

A couple of boundaries from Abbas Afridi off Spencer Johnson to give some respite to Pakistan. The visitors still need 47 runs from the final 12 balls. Possible? PAK 47/6 (5)    

8, 0, 3, 4, 4, 0 - No it's not a phone number. Instead these are the scores of Pakistan's top six batters. Chasing 94 runs to win, Pakistan are reeling at 24/6 in the fourth over. Xavier Bartlett rocked the top order with three wickets while Nathan Ellis grabbed two. Spencer Johnson got one. PAK 29/6 (4)

A four and a six by Marcus Stoinis off Naseem Shah to finish the innings as Australia post 93/4 in 7 overs.  

Two wickets in an over for Abbas Afridi. He first dismisses Glenn Maxwell before sending Tim David back. AUS 73/4 (6)

Glenn Maxwell is going berserk in Brisbane with a flurry of fours and sixes. He also becomes the 16th batter overall and third Australian to cross 10000 runs in T20s. Only David Warner and Aaron Finch are the only Australians to cross 10k runs in T20s. Maxwell smashes two fours and a six to enter 40s in just 16 balls. AUS 64/2 (5) 

OUTTTTTT!!!!! After Jake Fraser-Mcgurk, it's time for Matthew Short to pack his bags. Short tries to flick Haris Rauf off the pads, but is caught by Babar Azam at backward square leg.  AUS 36/2 (3)

It's game time finally. We will have a 7-over game. Pakistan have won the toss and opted to field first.  

The rain isn't stopping in Brisbane and we have just over an hour for a 5-over game. As it seems, we are likely heading towards washout.    

The rain has picked up now along with lightning. Looks like we might not have a game here.   

The drainage system at the Gabba is outstanding. That's the reason they only cover the square. Dark clouds still around along with lightning. 

Another sad news for all the cricket fans in Australia and Pakistan. The weather forecast doesn't look either in Sydney for Sunday when Pakistan take on Australia in the second T20I.  

The Gabba has been engulfed with a lot of dark clouds as the covers remain on the ground. David Warner, on air, confirms that the toss has been delayed due to lightning. The cut-off for a five-over game is 4 PM IST.

Bad news from Brisbane as it's overcast at the moment. The covers are on and it looks there is some rain around as well. 

Both Pakistan and Australia will see a few new faces in the T20Is that played in ODIs. The toss is just a few minutes away. Hold on for more updates.  

Pakistan will be having the pace trio of Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, who tormented the Australian batters so far.   

Pakistan are coming into the series after a convincing 2-1 win in the ODI series. This is also the first time Pakistan won a bilateral series in Australia since 2002. With that Mohammad Rizwan also became the first Pakistan captain after Waqar Younis to win a bilateral series in Australia.
