GT vs PBKS, IPL 2025: Making his debut for the new franchise as skipper, Shreyas Iyer on Tuesday led Punjab Kings to beat Shubman Gill-led Gujarat Titans at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium in the ongoing Indian Premier League 2025.
Chasing 244 runs, Gujarat Titans could manage to score only 232 runs after losing 5 wickets and lost the match by 11 runs to Punjab Kings.
After winning the toss, Gujarat Titans skipper Shubman Gill decided to bowl first and invited the guests to bat.
Batting first, Punjab Kings scored 243/5 in 20 overs, where Shreyas Iyer smashed 97 runs in just 42 deliveries at a strike rate of 230.95. His explosive innings included five boundaries and nine sixes.
Priyansh Arya (47) and Shashank Singh (44) also made valuable contributions to the total.
Sai Kishore picked up three wickets, while Kagiso Rabada and Rashid Khan picked one wicket each for GT.
Chasing 244, GT scored 150/2 in 13 overs, as Sai Sudharsan smashed 74 runs and Shubman Gill scored 33 runs.
Gujarat's opening batter Sai Sudharsan scored 74 runs in 41 deliveries, which included five boundaries and six sixes. He was supported by Jos Buttler (54), Sherfane Rutherford (46) and Shubman Gill (33).
For GT, Asrshdeep Singh picked two wickets, while Marco Jansen and Glenn Maxwell picked one wicket.
