The play on Day 3 has been called of due to bad light and it will stumps. 

The latest update coming in from the centre is that the rain has stopped and play will resume at 12:35 PM IST. Just 13.5 overs left on the day.

The chances of play resumption looks bleak as there are no updates from the ground. There is a forecast of rain for the next two days as well. Live visuals show some puddles have already formed beside the covers. 

The umpires are having a look at the conditions as the covers come off. But MET department indicates there will be a decent shower coming in later on the day. 

Tea has been officially taken as the rain wait continues. The rain is steady at the moment. 

Looks like, this is going to a big delay as the rain is heavier now. Meanwhile, 246 is the target to avoid follow-on.

Like in the previous game, Virat Kohli one again got out while chasing the ball outside off. Legendary Sunil Gavaskar came down hard on the former India captain and said, "If it was on the fourth stump I could understand. This was wide, on the seventh, eighth stump, you could say. There's no need to play that.”
