Virat Kohli's Test retirement has left many shocked. Among them was Harbhajan Singh's daughter Hinaya. Soon after Kohli announced his retirement from the longest format of the game on social media, Harbhajan, a former teammate, tweeted, “why, Virat why?”

Kohli's decision to quit Tests also shocked Hinaya who asked the same question to his father. “I tweeted and asked why, Virat why? Why did you retire from Test cricket? Even my daughter asked me, 'Papa, why did Virat retire?',” Harbhajan told Instant Bollywood.

Virat Kohli's record in Tests

Kohli bid adieu to Test cricket after scoring 9230 runs from 123 matches at an average of 46.85 with 30 centuries and 31 fifties to his name. He made his India debut in 2011 against West Indies, with his maiden hundred coming against Australia in Adelaide.

He led India in 68 Tests with the national team winning 40 and losing 17 while 11 Tests ended in a draw. As a result, Kohli also earned the tag of India's most successful Test captain. Four days before Kohli's retirement, India captain Rohit Sharma retired from Tests too.
