Former Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka meets PM Modi for discussion on AI, says ‘humbled by his grasp of…’

Former Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka recently met Prime Minister Narendra Modi for a 'wide-ranging discussion' on artificial intelligence. Sikka revealed the meeting with the PM in a post on X, where he also shared that he felt "inspired and humbled" by the leader's understanding of technology.

In a post on X, Sikka wrote, “It was a privilege to meet the Hon. Prime Minister Sh. @narendramodi for a detailed and wide-ranging discussion on AI, its impact on India and several imperatives for the time ahead. I left the meeting both inspired and humbled by his extraordinary grasp of technology's impact on all of us, and how its use with democratic values can uplift everyone.”

Prime Minister Modi also replied to the post from his official handle, writing, “It was an insightful interaction indeed. India is committed to taking the lead in AI, with a focus on innovation and creating opportunities for the youth,” PM Modi replied.

Who is Vishal Sikka?

The first non-founder CEO of Infosys, Sikka joined the IT giant in 2014 as managing director and CEO and led the company until 2017, when he had a falling out with the company's founders, particularly Narayan Murthy.

He holds a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Gujarat University and a PH.D in Computer Science from Stanford University.

This is the second meeting PM Modi has had with an AI related enterpreneur recently. Earlier, he had met with Perplexity AI CEO Aravind Srinivasan, and the duo talked about the potential of AI adoption in the country.
