Microsoft Build 2023 was heavily focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI). The biggest highlight from the tech event was the integration of Bing and ChatGPT. Now, ChatGPT will be able to pull web results from Bing for paid subscribers and will do so soon for free users, the company said at its annual Microsoft Build conference.
The company also said that it make available its Copilot experience to users of Windows 11 and Edge, and add new Copilot plugins for OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
Microsoft said it will make Copilot available as a preview for some users of its widespread Windows operating system starting in June. It also announced ways it is helping consumers determine if its AI generated an image or video, similar to an announcement by Google, reported Reuters.
A plug-in could let a user in plain language ask the AI to book travel or explain legal issues with vendor contracts, Microsoft said. Microsoft aims to let companies configure their own AI copilots more broadly.
New cloud service features also include allowing businesses to build plug-ins connecting to Microsoft 365 Copilot, its AI assistant for enterprises.
Microsoft Build 2023 was an offline event at Seattle, Washington but was available to watch online also. This event is similar to other developer events by rivals such as Google I/O and Apple’s WWDC. It started with a keynote address by CEO Satya Nadella.
Microsoft uses the annual event, Build to announce new features for its platforms and provide in-depth knowledge transfer for developers and professionals that use the tech giant's tools.
Users on personal computers will be able to open Copilot from the taskbar on Windows 11.
The Microsoft Build event started today and will continue till May 25.
