The current Haryana Assembly elections vote counting data is in complete contrast to the initial trends which indicated Congress party's lead in the state.

After the initial trends indicating Congress's lead, party workers were spotted celebrating outside AICC headquarters Tuesday morning.

In Jammu and Kashmir, most exit polls have indicated a hung parliament or the majority of the NC-Congress alliance. However, the assembly election vote-counting trends appeared to change after 10 am as the BJP started leading in more numbers of seats in Haryana.

There were visuals of Congress party workers celebrating the early election trends outside AICC headquarters Tuesday morning. However, the party's spirit dampened after BJP started leading on 48 seats against Congress in Haryana later in the day.

“We can see the people of Haryana teaching a lesson to Congress. In the morning, they (Congress) opened their 'Jhooth ki dukaan'...Within Congress, there are people who want Hooda to lose, and they were the ones who were bursting crackers,” said BJP leader Anil Vij.

“This is the victory of democracy...History is being made today as the trends are indicating that the BJP government will be formed in Haryana for the third time...The elections in J&K are historic. BJP is performing better than the previous elections in J&K. We will emerge as the single largest party,” said BJP leader Gaurav Bhatia.

Celebrations kick after NC-Congress crosses majority mark in Jammu and Kashmir

Celebrations kick in Jammu and Kashmir after the National Conference-Congress secured a majority in the assembly elections. NC chief Farooq Abdullah said his son and senior party leader Omar Abdullah would be the next Chief Minister.

Haryana Assembly Election results

All 90 seats in Haryana went to polls on October 5. According to Election Commission of India data, the state witnessed a 68 per cent turnout. There was a three-phase assembly election voting in Jammu and Kashmir, on September 18, 25 and October 1. J&K recorded a voter turnout of 63.88 per cent, which was higher than the voter turnout in the Lok Sabha elections.

The incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won the Haryana assembly elections in both 2014 and 2019. With the prevailing anti-incumbency wave in the state, Congress is hoping to return after spending a decade in opposition in the state. Alongside the BJP and Congress, the Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Jannayak Janata Party (JJP), and the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) are also in the fray.

Jammu and Kashmir elections results

The Congress alliance with National Conference is leading in Jammu and Kashmir, according to Election Commission's Assembly Elections vote counting data as on 11 am.

These Assembly elections will be the first for J&K in ten years after the abrogation of Article 370 in August 2019. In 2014, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and the BJP formed a rare coalition government with the late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. However, the government did not last long, as the BJP withdrew from the alliance in 2018.
