‘Ghus ke maarenge, mitti mein mila diya’: What PM Modi told US Vice President JD Vance on Operation Sindoor

With both India and Pakistan agreed to ceasefire on Saturday to tone down the escalation between two countries after Indian Armed Forces on 7 May successfully conducted ‘Operation Sindoor’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US Vice President JD Vance had conversation before the ceasefire, where PM Modi told the latter that India achieved all three objectives by conducting Operation Sindoor, news agency ANI said.

Among the details pouring in, the news agency reported that PM Modi told Vance that India achieved its military, political and psychological objectives though precision and calibrated approach.

PM Modi told JD Vance that India had said that it will destroy terrorists and their camps, and the Indian armed forces did it with 'Operation Sindoor.

Stating the military objective, PM Modi said that Indian Armed Forces destroyed the terrorist camps in Pakistan's Bahawalpur, Muridke and Muzaffarabad (Bahawalpur, Muridke and Muzaffarabad camp ko mitti me mila diya'.)

PM Modi also informed US Vice President JD Vance that the Indus Water Treaty linked to cross-border terrorism and it will be in abeyance until terror stops from across border.

On the issue of striking down terrorism, PM Modi had said that the Indian Armed Forces hit the terrorists camps and training centres deep inside their heart ('Ghus ke maarenge') and the mission was successful.

India will respond:

PM Modi told JD Vance, as ANI quoted a New York Times report, if Pakistan does something, the response will be more devastating and strong. On the same night, Pakistan attacked 26 sites and India responded very strongly. Strikes were launched on their bases, it added.

On India's position on Jammu and Kashmir:

The news agency while quoting sources said PM Modi told Vance that India have a very clear position on Kashmir and there is only one matter left- the return of Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (PoK). He added that there is nothing else to talk.

"If they talk about handing over terrorists, we can talk. I don't have any intention of any other topic. We don't want anyone to mediate. We don't need anyone to mediate," ANI reported quoting sources.

On Operation Sindoor:

PM Modi reiterated that Operation Sindoor is not over and India are in the new normal, the world has to accept this. Pakistan has to accept this, it cannot be business as usual, he added.

No mention of the word nuclear:

Citing the sources, ANI reported that when US Vice President JD Vance called up PM Modi, there was no mention of the word nuclear with regard to Pakistan.

During the call, PM Modi told JD Vance that if Pakistan takes any action, there will be a response, added the report.

PM Modi clarified that India was and is not ready to accept any kind of assurance from a third party. PM Modi's message to Vance was that the DGMO has to come online and speak to stop military action. Following this, the DGMOs decided on the cessation of hostilities, said ANI, quoting sources.
