UPSC CSE 2024 final results out: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the final results of the Civil Services Examination 2024 on Tuesday, April 22.
According to the official UPSC announcement, the results are based on the written part of the Civil Services Examination and the interviews for the personality test, which were held between January and April 2025.
As per the merit list, the candidates have been recommended for the appointment of Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Foreign Services (IFS), Indian Police Services (IPS), and Central Services (Group A and Group B).
According to the UPSC results announced on April 22, Shakti Dubey, Harshita Goyal, and Dongre Archit Parag were the top three ranking candidates (in the same order).
For the UPSC 2024 results, a total number of 1,009 candidates have been recommended for the appointment from several categories of General, EWS, OBC, SC, and ST quotas.
According to the official release, 335 candidates have been shortlisted from the General category, 109 were from the EWS quota, 318 were selected from the OBC category, 160 from the SC category, and 87 candidates from the ST category.
The public announcement also stated that appointments to the various Services will be based on the number of vacancies available.
Data also shows that there are 360 vacancies under IAS, spread across multiple quotas. The IFS cadre has 110 vacancies under the different quotas.
According to UPSC data, IPS has 294 vacancies, Central Services Group ‘A’ has 1,210 vacancies, and Group B has 284 vacancies.
“The candidature of 241 recommended candidates has been kept provisional,” said UPSC in the official release.
Shakti Dubey has secured the first position in the Civil Services Examination, 2024. She qualified for the examination with Political Science & International Relations as her optional subject. She has done her graduation (B.Sc.) in Biochemistry from the University of Allahabad.
Harshita Goyal, a graduate (B.Com.) from MS University of Baroda, secured second rank with Political Science & International Relations as her optional subject.
Dongre Archit Parag, a graduate (B.Tech.) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from VIT, Vellore, stood third in the rank with Philosophy as his optional subject.
Shah Margi Chirag, B.E. in Computer Engineering from Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad, secured fourth rank with Sociology as her optional subject.
Sh. Aakash Garg, B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, secured fifth rank with Sociology as his optional subject.
