Tom Cruise is giving Indian fans exclusive early access to his Mission: Impossible—The Final Reckoning. The movie, which was scheduled for release on May 23, will now be released in Indian cinemas six days before its US premiere.
The Final Reckoning, the eighth and final instalment of Tom Cruise's blockbuster action franchise, will now release on May 17 in India.
The Hollywood superstar will reprise his fan-favourite spy Ethan Hunt for one final mission in the movie. It will be released in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu in India.
Sharing the news, Paramount Pictures said, “The Final Reckoning now releases early in India. New date - 17th May. Releasing in English, Hindi, Tamil & Telugu!”
The movie will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival on May 14.
Indian fans were thrilled to learn about the early release of Mission: Impossible 8, and said that the movie will be an “emotional one” because this is the last part of the beloved franchise.
“That's insane,” a fan said, reacting to the early release.
“Early release? Guess we’re all on a mission to the nearest theater! Can’t wait for the action!” quipped another eager fan.
A social media user quipped it as the “best news” of the day.
However, some die-hard fans were sombre and said, “This one will be emotional.”
“We will never get to enjoy Ethan Hunt again,” added another user.
Tom Cruise has portrayed Ethan Hunt since the franchise's beginning with 1996's Mission: Impossible.
He has followed it up with successful sequels:
Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning also stars Hayley Atwell, Esai Morales, Henry Czerny, Simon Pegg, Pom Klementieff, Vanessa Kirby, Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, Katy O'Brian and Tramell Tillman.
