Days after the shocking murder of former Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput, new chilling details have surfaced as investigators delve deeper into the case. Muskan Rastogi and Sahil Shukla, the couple accused of the gruesome crime who are at the center of the Meerut murder case, rehearsed multiple times how to carry out the killing.
In another revelation, the authorities have said that Muskan and Sahil bought knives for ₹800 and a cut-throat razor to severe Saurabh's head off his body.
Sahil and Muskan were arrested for drugging, stabbing and then chopping his body into 15 pieces while he was in Meerut for his daughter's birthday. Muskan slit his throat with a razor, the same weapon Sahil later used to behead him. They then placed his dismembered body in a plastic drum, sealing it with wet cement.
According to the investigators, Saurabh also wanted to take Muskan and their daughter to London. Fearing separation from Sahil, Muskan then drew a plan to murder Saurabh with Sahil's help.
Meanwhile, the postmortem report of Saurabh Rajput has revealed more gruesome details in the Meerut murder case.
Saurabh's body was found with multiple stab wounds, including three on the left side, and cut marks on the neck and wrist. The most disturbing aspect is that both the wrist and neck were severed from the body.
“In the postmortem report, the reason was stated as haemorrhage shock and that the left side was stabbed three times with a knife, there were cut marks on the neck and wrist and both the wrist and the neck were separated from the body...,” said Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Meerut, Antriksh Jain.
Muskan and Sahil, spending their days behind bars, are facing a drug withdrawal system and are being treated through de-addiction centres and counselling in jail.
“It was found that they were drug addicts...There were withdrawal symptoms, they couldn't have been accused of drugs in jail. They are being given medicines for withdrawal symptoms. They are being treated through de-addiction centres and counselling is being given to them; they are also being sent for Yoga and meditation,” Senior Jail Superintendent Viresh Raj Sharma said.
