In a sad incident, a person died and 2 fire personnel were injured following a fire broke out due to a cylinder blast in Motia Khan area in New Delhi on Sunday.

Emergency services have been rushed in and a total four fire tenders were deployed to douse the fire.

 

 According to Delhi Fire Service, the fire erupted at a house around 3:01 pm, prompting an emergency response. 

DFS chief Atul Garg said that two firefighters—Ravinder Singh and Ved—were injured during the operation when an LPG cylinder exploded. "They were immediately taken to a hospital for treatment," he said, as per news agency PTI.

Once the fire was brought under control, rescue teams searched the premises and discovered a completely charred body on the fourth floor. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed, Garg added.

In a similar incident, a fire broke out at the scrap material yard of NTPC’s North Karanpura Super Thermal Power Project (NKSTPP) in Jharkhand’s Chatra district on Saturday, reported ABP.

According to the officials, the blaze started at around 12 pm and was brought under control within one and a half hours by CISF personnel with the help of three fire engines.

The scrap yard is about one kilometre from the main facility, said the NTPC official, adding that no lives or materials were lost.

The NKSTPP has a total capacity of 1,980 MW and is India’s first supercritical thermal power project designed with an air-cooled condenser to reduce water consumption significantly.

On Friday, a massive fire broke out on the 42nd floor of one of the twin buildings of Salsette 27 in the Byculla area of Mumbai. The building is situated on Babasaheb Ambedkar Road.

According to officials, emergency services were rushed in to contain the blaze. No casualty has been reported.
