New Delhi: Rozgar Mela is becoming the new identity of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) governments, said Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.
Speaking at the National Rozgar Mela via video conferencing, the prime minister highlighted his government’s commitment to generating employment opportunities and distributed over 70,000 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals.
He also cautioned against the perils of dynasty politics and nepotism in the recruitment process, referencing recent scandals involving cash and land in exchange for jobs. He warned the youth to be wary of political parties engaged in such practices and assured them that his government was dedicated to safeguarding their future.
The National Rozgar Mela witnessed participation of selected candidates who are set to join various government departments such as financial services, posts, school education, higher education, defence, revenue, health and family welfare, atomic energy, railways, audit and accounts, and home affairs, among others.
PM Modi emphasized that the campaign to provide government jobs to the youth was unparalleled and outlined the efforts made by institutions like the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), and Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) to streamline and expedite the recruitment process.
“The entire world is eager to partner with India in its growth journey today,” remarked prime minister Modi, emphasizing the global trust in India’s economy. He highlighted the foreign investments flowing into the country and their significant impact on production, expansion, and the establishment of new industries, which in turn bolster employment opportunities. PM Modi cited automotive sector as an example, with its contribution of over 6.5% to the country’s GDP and the growth of electric mobility, facilitated by the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme.
Reflecting on India’s progress, the prime minister underscored the nation’s stability, safety, and strength compared to a decade ago. He lauded the government’s decisive actions and acknowledged the recognition received from global agencies for its efforts in areas such as ease of living, infrastructure development, and ease of doing business.
PM Modi also highlighted the government’s commitment to social infrastructure, exemplified by the success of Jal Jeevan Mission in providing safe drinking water to rural areas. He outlined the financial savings and lives saved due to improved water availability and stressed the multiplier effect of government schemes.
Concluding his address, PM Modi urged the recruits to work with sensitivity towards the citizens of the country and emphasized the evolving nature of government systems and employee responsibilities. He encouraged them to continue learning and take advantage of online platforms such as iGoT for further skill development.
