Singer Neha Kakkar was left shocked when she received mixed reactions upon taking the stage in Melbourne on Sunday, after arriving three hours late to the concert—a day after her performance in Sydney. Despite apologising, some in the crowd booed her, while others cheered and clapped to encourage her.

In a video posted by a Reddit user, Kakkar was seen crying on stage. Some audience members were reportedly heard shouting, “Go back” at her.

Kakkar apologises to audiences

“You’ve been waiting for such a long time. I’m so sorry. You mean the world to me. You all are so sweet. I was so worried about what would happen. It means a lot to me. I’ll always remember this evening forever. But I’ll make sure that since you all have taken out such valuable time for me, I will make you all dance,” Kakkar said.

“This isn't India, you're in Australia. Go back and take rest. We waited for over two hours. Very good acting. Yeh Indian Idol nahi hai (This is not Indian Idol),” a voice in the video stated.

“Came up on stage at 10 p.m. for a 7:30 show, then did the drama of crying… Wrapped up in less than an hour. Such a crap concert… Heights of being unprincipled,” a person commented while posting a photo of the singer on stage. Another attendee termed the show a “waste of time and money.”

According to media reports, the delay in Kakkar's show occurred because the organisers vanished with the sponsors' funds, making them unreachable. Neha and her team attempted to verify the situation, but to no avail, as the organisers never showed up.
