Honouring Visionaries: The Chiratae Ventures Patrick J. McGovern Awards

The 2024 Chiratae Ventures Patrick J. McGovern Award recipients have been announced, celebrating individuals whose leadership and innovation continue to shape industries and drive global growth. This year’s India Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Narayana Murthy, Founder of Infosys Limited, in recognition of his pioneering role in building one of India's most successful technology companies. The Global Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to Shantanu Narayen, Chair and CEO of Adobe, for his transformative contributions to the global digital experience ecosystem. The Exceptional Entrepreneurial Award honours Abhinav Asthana, CEO and Founder of Postman, for revolutionising API development and creating a platform that empowers millions of developers worldwide.

Established in 2016 in memory of Patrick J. McGovern, the legendary Founder and Chairman of International Data Group (IDG), these awards pay tribute to a visionary who believed deeply in the potential of technology investing in emerging markets. His foresight and commitment to innovation were pivotal in anchoring venture funds in India, China, the USA, Vietnam, and Korea, including Chiratae Ventures (then IDG Ventures) in 2006.

Each year, the awards celebrate individuals whose transformative vision and groundbreaking contributions have reshaped industries and driven growth in the business ecosystem. With categories of Lifetime Achievement (India), Lifetime Achievement (Global), and Exceptional Entrepreneurial Achievement, these awards highlight leaders who have made monumental contributions to entrepreneurial ecosystems, policymaking, and risk capital investments. Past recipients of this prestigious honour include the late Ratan Tata, Azim Premji, Prem Watsa, Nandan Nilekani, Indra Nooyi, Nithin Kamath, Peyush Bansal and Falguni Nayar, among others.
