India Masters started their campaign with wins over Sri Lanka, England and South Africa. However, India suffered their first defeat against Australia before returning to the track with win over West Indies. In the semifinal, India defeated Australia by 94 runs to march into the final. 

West Indies Masters began their campaign with two back-to-back wins over Australia Masters and England Masters. But they lost their next two matches against Sri Lanka Masters and India Masters. But a win over South Africa Masters enabled West Indies Masters into the semifinal. In the last four, West Indies Masters defeated Sri Lanka Masters by six runs. 

For India Masters, Yuvraj Singh has been in top form, smashing as many as seven sixes against Australia Masters in the semifinal. The hosts will once again look up to the all-rounder for another such show. 

One of the major threats for India Masters is the form of Lendl Simmons. Like during his playing days, the right-handed opener has been in purple patch in this tournament with 294 runs from five games. In fact, in their clash against India Masters, Simmons smashed 38 runs in 13 balls including five sixes. 

Brian Lara has played four matches in the tournament so far. Although he is yet to score a fifty, the left-hander has scored 107 runs at a strike rate of 120.22 and average of 35.66.

Among the top wicket-takers, Australia's Xavier Doherty leads the chart with 10 scalps, followed by West Indies' Ravi Rampaul (9). Among the Indians, spinner Pawan Negi is topping the chart with 8 wickets.

West Indies Masters, on the other hand, have lost only twice en route to the final, against Sri Lanka Masters and India Masters. They defeated Sri Lanka Masters in the semifinal to advance to the final.  

India Masters have been dominant in the IML 2025 so far, losing only one game, against Australia Masters in group stages. However, they took a revenge in the semifinal as India Masters won the game to qualify for the final in the inaugural edition.
